Join us in taking this audio-recorded podcast event and walk as you learn from our speaker Ryan Cox on the LGBTQ+ community.

Ryan Cox

Dr. Ryan Cox is an integrated health psychologist, currently serving as the Behavioral Health Director of Truman Medical Center’s LGBTQ Specialty Clinic, and Program Manager of the Infectious Diseases clinic, in addition to being an assistant professor in the UMKC School of Medicine. He is also the Executive Board President of Thrive Health Connection, a Kansas City HIV and AIDS services organization, and an adjunct instructor in the KCU School of Medicine and Biosciences psychology doctorate degree program.Dr. Cox originally studied film and video production in art school, but after spending several years toiling in the worlds of film and television, he switched his focus. He earned his BA in Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, his MA in Counseling from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, and his PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship in LGBT Interprofessional Care from the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas.In his spare time he loves watching movies, reading, snuggling with cats, traveling, being outside, and cooking.
