Yoga for Public Health Professionals: Cultuvate Well-being and Resilience presented by Nancy Bernal
Participants should leave this presentation able to: identify a current health stressor affecting their daily life, whether at home or work, and explore how policy, systems, and environmental or behavioral changes can address these issues, with a focus on promoting overall health through yoga practice, reflect on their motivations and actions as public health professionals. They will rediscover the importance of established ethical principles in public health, which ensure that policies and practices promote fairness justice, and the well-being of individuals and communities, and apply poses, breathwork, and meditation techniques to address specific physical, mental, or emotional health challenges in their daily lives, both on and off the mat.

Her approach is grounded in a holistic view of health, integrating physical, mental, and social well-being. In addition to her public health credentials, Nancy is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), certified by Yoga Alliance. She combines her expertise in health education with the transformative power of yoga, offering a unique perspective on wellness that emphasizes mindfulness, stress management, and body-mind connection. With a strong belief in physical, emotional, and mental health interconnectedness, Nancy is dedicated to fostering healthier, more balanced lifestyles through research, education, and wellness practices.
